ABOUT ME

Putting My Experience to Work

My name is Christy MacPherson, and I am running for the State Senate seat for District 14, which covers ʻĀlewa, Kapālama, Kalihi, Kalihi Valley, Ft. Shafter, Moanalua Gardens & Valley, and Red Hill.

I am a 4th-generation settler in Hawaiʻi. My maternal great-grandparents immigrated to Hawaiʻi as early as the late 1800s.

I grew up in this community since I was a young teen and am a proud public school graduate. I am a licensed clinical social worker, community organizer, wife, and, most importantly, a Mom. I was a single Mom for 9 years, and that taught me so much about the hardships that parents face, especially those with limited resources.

COMMUNITY ISSUES

A Safe Community for Everyone

Real safety doesn’t come from fear. Whether they’re walking to school, waiting for the bus, or caring for kūpuna at home, every ‘ohana deserves to feel safe. Safety comes from stable housing, mental health care, clean streets, youth programs, and community trust. We’ll work with our neighbors, not just top-down enforcement, to keep our communities safe and thriving.

District residents deserve a safe community, including housing that they can afford, clean water, and honest and transparent government. That’s why I’m running – to deliver on the needs of our beloved community.
